Now in paperback

The probable routes from Riccall are shown. The boats had landed on what was in effect an island, joined to the land by 2 or 3 causeways. This was a very good place to defend from land attack. But did earl Edwin's fleet, moored in the Wharfe, attack the fleet at Riccall on the same day that King Harold was surrounding King Harald of Norway near Stamford Bridge?

It would take about two hours to march to Fulford about 13 km away.
